Standing Seam Copper Roof on Historic Church, Charleston, SC

Huber & Associates brings fifty years of hands-on experience restoring and installing roofs on nationally significant properties, guided by trained historic roofing specialists who understand traditional systems and materials.

Our portfolio includes landmark projects such as the Biltmore Estate, Bryce Canyon Lodge, and the Circular Congregational Church, along with historic courthouses, churches, museums, and university buildings across the country. Each project reflects the same level of care, discipline, and attention to detail, regardless of scale or visibility. Read more about our historic work on our Historic Roofing Page.

It brings us great joy to restore historic structures and help carry their stories forward. That sense of purpose guides how we approach every roof, from early evaluation through final detailing.

HISTORIC ROOF REPLACEMENT & RESTORATION

No two historic roofs are alike. Age, material composition, construction methods, and historical designation all influence the appropriate course of action.

At Huber & Associates, solutions range from targeted historic roof repair to complete historic roof restoration, based on the specific condition of your roof and the standards governing the property.

RESTORATION OVER REPLACEMENT

When possible, we prioritize restoration whenever original materials can be retained, allowing the roof to remain as close as possible to its original condition. Like this historic project in North Carolina, instead of new materials, we were able to test and reuse clay tiles. Preserving the existing fabric supports architectural authenticity while maintaining the performance characteristics the roof was designed to deliver.

MATERIAL MATCHING

When replacement becomes necessary, material accuracy guides every decision that follows. We take the time to source or custom-manufacture components that match the original roof in terms of profile, texture, and finish. This level of attention allows new materials to integrate seamlessly into the existing roofscape, preserving visual continuity.
